How to Buy Sunglasses Online
A simple guide to buying sunglasses online: pick a shape, check the width, choose a lens color, compare total price and read the returns policy.
1. Pick a shape
Choose a shape that suits your face. Angular frames soften a round face, and curved frames soften an angular one. See the face shape guide.
2. Check the width
Compare the frame width with a pair you already own. The frame should sit on the bridge of your nose without pinching at the temples.
3. Choose a lens color
Grey and brown are the everyday choices. Blue, yellow and rose are style choices. See the lens color guide.
4. Read the lens information
Look for a stated UV rating or standard. If it is not stated, treat the lens as a fashion lens.
5. Compare the total price
Add shipping and any taxes or duties. Look for bundle prices if you want more than one pair. Our bundles start at $52 for two.
6. Read the returns policy
Check the window, who pays return postage and how refunds are made. Read ours on the returns page.
7. Order and check on arrival
Try the pair on, check the fit and the lenses, and contact the seller quickly if something is wrong. Shop all 42 colorways.
Measuring your face
Hold a ruler across your face at cheekbone level and note the width in millimetres. Compare it with a pair that fits you well and, if the listing gives frame width, choose a frame within a few millimetres of it.
Fit signs to check on arrival
The frame should sit evenly on both ears, the lenses should not touch your eyelashes, and the pair should stay put when you look down. If it slides, pinches or leaves marks, it is the wrong size, and you can use the return window.
Common mistakes
Buying only on price, ignoring the frame width, picking a lens color that is too light for bright days, skipping the returns policy, and forgetting shipping and import costs.
Buying for gifts
Choose a neutral shape in black or brown, and add a second pair in a bolder color. A bundle of two pairs costs $52, and the recipient can pick the one that suits them.
